The event site is approximately 3 hour's drive SW of Canberra, mostly on the Monaro and Snowy Mountains Highways but with a 14km section of good quality gravel road to the Hash House located at Cooinbil Hut Campground. For those coming from further afield, driving times are approximately 5.5 hours from Sydney, and 6.5 hours from Melbourne. For EV drivers, the nearest fast charging stations are at Cooma, Gundagai and Tarcutta - a full charge is recommended and a car with at least 400km range. The setters have done this trip several times without issues in a BYD Atto 3. Please try to car pool to reduce traffic and parking at the site. If you do drive please have a sleep before driving after the event is over. ANY driving is too far for sleepy rogainers.

BUS IT THERE AND BACK - the bus is now FULL.

We strongly encourage rogainers who intend to stay out for all or most of the event to seriously consider catching the event bus. It is a much safer option. The event is subsiding the bus cost from a portion of every entry, so why not make the most of it and take the bus!

At the event we are providing tables and chairs in a big marquee, and water for bus travellers.

To the event on Friday: There will be a bus running from Canberra Friday afternoon. The bus will leave the Russell Offices carpark (see map) at 2 pm. If you are catching the bus from here, please be ready to board the bus at 1:45pm.  It will go via the Canberra airport for any passengers coming from interstate and arrive at the airport at 2:15pm in the bus parking area on the west side of the loop road (before the taxi stand).

The bus will also stop briefly in Cooma at the Coles or Woolworths supermarket for any last minute purchases and arrive at the Hash House at approximately 5:30pm.

For those arriving in Canberra later, send us an email via the contact page and we will try to match you up with cars going later on Friday.

From the event on Sunday: The return bus will leave the Hash House at 2pm. First drop off at the airport and then Russell Offices. ETA Canberra airport about 5:30 pm and Russell Offices carpark 20 minutes later.

The bus seats have filled up fast and there are no more available. One option for you is to put your name on the car pooling table to see if anyone can offer a lift.
